The Digital Dimensions and Beyond planning group met Tuesday evening to facilitate plans for the August 17 meeting at Digital Labrador. By far the top request in the survey you filled out at the last meeting was techniques for lighting in outdoor photography.

John Caulfield had recently taken a class taught by T. Michael Stanley on that very topic. John agreed to contact T. Michael who, the very next day, graciously agreed to be our speaker and facilitator on this topic at the next meeting. His subject, by popular request, will center on taking photos outdoors without using artificial light, the emphasis will be on portraits.

Mr. Stanley gave out a lot of good info in his presentation. I found it very usefull.

A suggestion for a future meeting (or meetings), how about breakout critique groups where the members could, in small groups show their work and get comments, suggestions or info from other members. I feel this could be both constructive and help create more of a bond amongst the membership.
Were it to be a monthly feature the groups could be mixed up each month.

I did something last night that I normally don't do: I took five pages of notes from T. Michael's presentation. A lot of light bulbs went on for me last night, and I took away a great deal form the evening. Time well spent - and a good time, too.
